Why It Matters

When African refugees get here, to Dallas, they’ve already been through more than most of us can imagine. But they don’t just arrive with losses, they come with grit, with hope, with ideas for what life could be.

We try to meet them where they are. Sometimes that means finding a safe place for the night. Sometimes it’s guiding a craft or supporting filling out paperwork.

They begin building a life here, making buddies, finding a proper job, and giving back to the community. What keeps all of it moving is love. The plain faithful kind that we all have in our hearts.

Above all, clothe yourself with love, which ties everything together in unity.
