Our Approach in the U.S.
Upon arriving in Dallas, African refugees face daunting challenges. Finding stable housing is just the beginning. They must navigate language barriers, unfamiliar systems, and limited job opportunities as they strive to build a new life.
At PCL, we focus our energy where it truly matters: training life skills, providing mentorship for individual and professional development, and connecting individuals with the appropriate networks and resources.
We collaborate with organizations like World Vision and other refugee-serving organizations so that each effort is aligned and every minute counts.
Our Programs and Goals
Each of these areas is backed by hands-on coaching and mentoring, so participants don’t just learn, they grow.
Advocate and Support
We advocate for the equal treatment and rights of refugees from Africa. In order to help families move toward safety, stability, and a better future, our team provides immediate assistance, supports them emotionally, and navigates complex cases alongside them.
Economic Empowerment
We support refugees in gaining the means and faith to stand on their own. From vocational training to job readiness workshops and career mentorship, we open doors to lasting economic independence.
Integration and Community Building
We help make places where refugees feel welcome. Cultural orientation, English classes, and community gatherings give space for real connections to grow between African refugees and the people living around them.
Stronger Together
We work alongside partners in Dallas who share our mission. By working together, we can reach more people and provide refugees with all the support they require while remaining committed to our core competencies.
